Fred wilson

Administrative Pastor/Minister of Music

Fred started his ministry-related work in 1980 as a youth and music director at a small church in Columbia, South Carolina. During that time, he attended Columbia International University and then moved to Atlanta to  enroll at Georgia State University (degree in Music Education). In 1983, he began his career at First Baptist of Atlanta as the Assistant Minister of music. He continued his work there taking on various roles until 2006. While at First Baptist, he met his wife, Melanie, was Ordained to the Gospel Ministry and enrolled at Luther Rice Seminary.  Since then, he served in ministry at Norcross First Baptist Church and has built a ministry to men through the non-profit organization, Yielded Ministries, Inc. A part of Yielded Ministries is Yielded Men, his weekly men’s discussion group which meets every Friday morning at J. Alexander’s at The Forum in Peachtree Corners for an hour of fellowship, conversation and prayer.  As a Pastor, Fred has been given a keen ability to develop relationships and create an attitude of reflection in the people he meets.  God has blessed Fred with a wonderful wife and family, and he is passionate about serving his community. Fred currently serves Briarcliff Church in an administrative capacity, as well as weekly leading our worship department. We are grateful to have Fred apart of Briarcliff for all these years!
