Pastor Matt Stacy

My name is Matthew Stacy. Brandy and I have been married since January of 1998. Brandy is the Special Education Lead Teacher at Inman Middle School. Our oldest son, Jack was born in 2004 and attends Grady High School. We have twins, Wilson a boy and Elli a girl, who were born in 2009. They both go to school at Mary Lin Elementary.

 

The Lord was merciful to my family to lead my Dad to move us from Canton, OH to Waycross, GA when I was 10 years old.  It was in a Baptist Church in Waycross where I first heard the Gospel.  Jesus saved me when I was 15 years old.  The Spirit of God called me immediately to be a Pastor.  Since then our Father has been ever so gracious to allow me to pastor some great Churches and see Him do many amazing things.  Jesus is truly the hero of my story.  I am a first generation believer, but that was only the beginning of God’s work in my family.  My Dad, Mom, Sister, and Brother have all given their lives to Christ over the last 25 years.  My brother George is an ordained minister of the Gospel.  Jesus has also saved all three of our children! Brandy has been a believer since she was 8 years old.

 

I have been in the full-time ministry since 2002. For most of that time I have been a lead pastor until May of 2014 when I resigned my position in the 'burbs and moved our family into the City. We have loved Atlanta for the better part of 20 years and have had a strong desire to live and minister in the City since my seminary days at Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia where I graduated with with a BA in Biblical Studies. 

 

I am a passionate follower of Jesus because Jesus is a passionate pursuer of me.  Therefore, my desire to get His Gospel to as many people as I can is of the utmost importance to me.  The joy I have known in Him compels me to share the Good News with everyone.  

 

We feel so fortunate to be able to live in such a great City. God has given our family the desire of our heart to be able to live in Atlanta and we have committed our lives to seeing the Gospel saturate this great City.   We could not have scripted a better story for this time in the life of our family. 

 

It is an honor to pastor Briarcliff.  Our family’s prayer is that this is only the beginning of the best ministry days of our lives.  May God bless you and your efforts towards His glory and the furtherance of the Kingdom for Jesus sake.
